At last....

+The fashion show yesterday was amazing, we did 3 run through and after backstage mess ups we set stuff up much easier for all designers. It was amazing and smooth and my family was impressed on how professional it was. It's insane that in 20 seconds something you worked so hard on is on and off that runway so quick, bitter sweet. Thanks to everyone that deals with the sound of the machine at almost 2 am (Dad& Mom, Peter, Jav, George), Bryan for having to put up with my minor freak outs, the venting, the fabric shopping and the buttons, what a nightmare! haha Without all you guys I know this wouldn't be possible and as you all saw I will need the most patience and support for next years show. Thank you to everyone who attended, and Erica I hope you are feeling better.

Most Importantly, my dress was dedicated to a beautiful young woman, Tanya. No one really knew why I named my dress, "The Tanya Dress" but now you all get to understand why.On May 13th 2005 my family lost someone very special. Taken away by and irresponsible bastard who drove drunk. I've learned to accept this strangers mistakes but I will never forgive them, nor will we ever get to see her beautiful smile. I think back on how much fun we had as kids, growing up with her and Julie was so much fun. We always found some kind of trouble to get into and always found our way out. One of my favorite memories was when we stooped the ice cream man, and in their neighborhood you walked into the truck but for me that seems sooo scary as a kid. I thought the ice cream people would drive away with us in the truck. It was a big long truck, you walking in the side got what you wanted and stepped off through the steps on the back, I remember her laughing at me because I was scared but she always had a way of making me feel safe. I got on and found myself in heaven, this truck had everything, from pan dulce, ice cream, candy, to bananas. I miss her so much and getting to see her brothers and sister grow up without her breaks my heart. We all try to stay positive and think of the time we had with her rather than the time we wont have with her.

Amity Clothing Co....

I forgot to talk about my most recent school (BS) project. Ha! The only reason i like it was becuase I got to make a super cool commercial. Amity was a name for my designs that i thought of in high school when i used to sell tote bags and to this day even has it's own Myspace. http://www.myspace.com/amityclothingco
(all clothes is stuff i made minus my blouce and the Bryan's Jeans)
THANK YOU: Bryan for being and Amazing boyfriend, patient, and the hottest model ever. Te amo amor!
and BenJaBucket for the awesome driving/filming/photography skills. Thanks CFF!

Fashionistas....

So after getting alittle recognition from journalism book worms at our school we (fashion dept.) thought it was a pleasant attempt at getting to be in our shoes for a day. What we call a sweatshop which is our 15'X8' back room that they like to think is a work room is always filled with people, 4 at the tall table, 1 at each machine, and 2-3 on the floor cutting fabric. we do what it take to get out things done and on that runway. I turned in my garments today and I didn't think it would ever feel so great to get something out of my face. Looking at those garments was a bit hard after so many hours of work and dedication was put into them. I guess after a while you just want it out of your face.

Enough chat....

The fashion show is May 13th and my garments will be on a runway infront of this many people...(this times 3!)
I think this building is one of the best on campus, architechturely speaking and it looks even better at night....
It's just insane that a couple of years ago I wanted to leave CSULB for a SF fashion school. I then gave my school a shot by attending the end of the year fashion show. It blew my mind, so I stayed and now I'll be on that runway. AMAZING!
I can't wait to be back on that runway with 10 garments next year.
(I'll post pictures of my garments next week)
