Inspiration...

The different ways of finding beauty.
As a designer I get designers block when looking at other garments, instead of inspiration I find myself piecing their process together. I don't get inspired by whats been done already.
When starting designs I get inspiration from moods, colors, silhouettes, movement, paint brush stokes, texture, sound, ect.
Trying to mimic the natural movement of water into a draped garment. It's not JUST fabric its a feel, a mood, a motion, a fit, a style. Fabrics excite me!(Obviously.)
Architecture leads to lines, structure, and stiffness. It's a challenge to look good in structured garments, but who doesn't like hard work?
Welcome to my mind, my inspiration, a brain of a visionary...
Art, art, art. Could never have enough of it.
Silly Dali
Basquiat's wild mind.
Body shapes.
Express it. For the record, I love suspenders. 1,000 words

Manly Weekend...

I feel like a dude, motorcycle races and a baseball game all in one weekend. ohhh yeah. (Bryan is one lucky guy!) Speedway was Saturday and my friend April invited us to the Dodger game Sunday. Thanks April!
This is the Costa Mesa Speedway. I've never been but Bryan went there alot as a kid so we coughed up $20 for which I thought was gonna be a total, "bro" event. Turns out its legit, these men are gnarly!! Huge motorcycle engines, burning alcohol, NO BRAKES. Yiiiikeeess. Enjoy the horrible phone fotos, sorry I forgot my camera. But here is a video to give you a better idea.

DODGERS vs Giants. Dodgers won 6-2!!!!

Bryan's 2nd game this season.
Beating the heat and April being camera shy.

VIVA MEXICO!!

Feliz dia de independencia!

The beautiful Mexico, oh how I miss you. The beauty of the cities and the untouched nature, I miss it all. So as you all know I'm 100% Mexican and love every minute of it, all the culture food and celebrations made me who I am. Although my accent isn't obvious most of the time, Spanish was my first language and both my parents were born in Zacatecas, Mexico. My mom is from San Juan which is a small ranch towns which just about 5 years ago got paved roads and now has successful pluming for some parts. I'm not sure what the status is on phones there, last time I went they still had messengers. Someone calls the phone booth house, then their messenger runs, bikes, or horseback rides to your house and lets you know someone called for you and will call back for you at a certain time. Then you have to be sure to tip the messenger or they will give you the stink eye then and be sure to be on time for your phone call. My father is from El Parral de la Guertas(aka La Boca). He is probably about an 10min-hour drive from the main cities and is on a mountain, no pluming, most of the water comes from the river that flows past there not sure if that's still the case, and it was probably about 10 years ago got reliable electricity for all homes. As for telephones here, my grandparents who still live there have to pay a driver or take a bus over to the nearest big city, almost an hour away. If you drive about and hour up the mountain, El Sero, you will get to see what not many people have seen or let alone touch. The mountains are green and unestablished, probably one of the most amazing sights.
I haven't been everywhere in Mexico but I gotta say the beauty of this state is amazing, more than I can explain really. I haven't been there for at least 7 years which really disappoints me but I hope to go back when I'm done with school and when things get better and the bastard Narcs kill each other off. Anyways, here are a few picture of Zacatecas, Mexico although I didn't take these pictures, these are all places I've been and things I've seen. Enjoy!

Simple living

So this is on the zip-line ride up to, La Bufa.
There are old mines and history museums at the top.
The whole ride up is one of the most amazing views I've ever seen.
This is one of the view you get form the zip-line.

This is Jerez, Zac. just a short drive from my moms town, San Juan.
think farmers market/swap meet/gardens and AMAZING architecture.
At night the street are filled with people, dancing, and music it's always a huge celebration.
This is the every night regular beauty there.
Everyone walks past it so used to the beauty.
I cant sit for hours and look at these magnificent structures.

This used to be for bullfights but now
is one of the smallest and most expensive hotels in Zac.

I'm Twenty-TWO!!!!

As a youngin' I thought 22 was soooo old, I was wrong I feel young, wild and alive. Living the dream a day at a time. I'm on my 5th year of college, and will be done after my 6th. That is just bizzare, where did all my time fly off to. I've grown so wise in my 22 years, mostly becuase I've been through ALOT more than people my age. Good or bad I wouldn't change a thing, I don't regret anything. You learn and you live, you one get one chance at life you gotta take each day and treat it like something special. Life is beautiful enjoy every moment of it.

So for my birthday I went to the Santa Ana Zoo with Bryan, followed by some delish pie and movie watching with the fam.
