At last....

+The fashion show yesterday was amazing, we did 3 run through and after backstage mess ups we set stuff up much easier for all designers. It was amazing and smooth and my family was impressed on how professional it was. It's insane that in 20 seconds something you worked so hard on is on and off that runway so quick, bitter sweet. Thanks to everyone that deals with the sound of the machine at almost 2 am (Dad& Mom, Peter, Jav, George), Bryan for having to put up with my minor freak outs, the venting, the fabric shopping and the buttons, what a nightmare! haha Without all you guys I know this wouldn't be possible and as you all saw I will need the most patience and support for next years show. Thank you to everyone who attended, and Erica I hope you are feeling better.

Most Importantly, my dress was dedicated to a beautiful young woman, Tanya. No one really knew why I named my dress, "The Tanya Dress" but now you all get to understand why.On May 13th 2005 my family lost someone very special. Taken away by and irresponsible bastard who drove drunk. I've learned to accept this strangers mistakes but I will never forgive them, nor will we ever get to see her beautiful smile. I think back on how much fun we had as kids, growing up with her and Julie was so much fun. We always found some kind of trouble to get into and always found our way out. One of my favorite memories was when we stooped the ice cream man, and in their neighborhood you walked into the truck but for me that seems sooo scary as a kid. I thought the ice cream people would drive away with us in the truck. It was a big long truck, you walking in the side got what you wanted and stepped off through the steps on the back, I remember her laughing at me because I was scared but she always had a way of making me feel safe. I got on and found myself in heaven, this truck had everything, from pan dulce, ice cream, candy, to bananas. I miss her so much and getting to see her brothers and sister grow up without her breaks my heart. We all try to stay positive and think of the time we had with her rather than the time we wont have with her.

Amity Clothing Co....

I forgot to talk about my most recent school (BS) project. Ha! The only reason i like it was becuase I got to make a super cool commercial. Amity was a name for my designs that i thought of in high school when i used to sell tote bags and to this day even has it's own Myspace. http://www.myspace.com/amityclothingco
(all clothes is stuff i made minus my blouce and the Bryan's Jeans)
THANK YOU: Bryan for being and Amazing boyfriend, patient, and the hottest model ever. Te amo amor!
and BenJaBucket for the awesome driving/filming/photography skills. Thanks CFF!

Fashionistas....

So after getting alittle recognition from journalism book worms at our school we (fashion dept.) thought it was a pleasant attempt at getting to be in our shoes for a day. What we call a sweatshop which is our 15'X8' back room that they like to think is a work room is always filled with people, 4 at the tall table, 1 at each machine, and 2-3 on the floor cutting fabric. we do what it take to get out things done and on that runway. I turned in my garments today and I didn't think it would ever feel so great to get something out of my face. Looking at those garments was a bit hard after so many hours of work and dedication was put into them. I guess after a while you just want it out of your face.

Enough chat....

The fashion show is May 13th and my garments will be on a runway infront of this many people...(this times 3!)
I think this building is one of the best on campus, architechturely speaking and it looks even better at night....
It's just insane that a couple of years ago I wanted to leave CSULB for a SF fashion school. I then gave my school a shot by attending the end of the year fashion show. It blew my mind, so I stayed and now I'll be on that runway. AMAZING!
I can't wait to be back on that runway with 10 garments next year.
(I'll post pictures of my garments next week)

Forgotten bloggy...

So as the weeks go by it gets closer to crunch time, closer to the date of my fashion show, EK!!! Everything is due May 6th and the show will the 13th. A day I hate to remember, due to the loss of my lovely cousin 4 years ago on Friday May 13th. But she loves me soooo much that she is shinning some light on that day, thank you my lovely Tania.

Spring Break was a few weeks ago and as much as I would have loved to be in the middle of the wilderness alone with the Stud Muffin (Bryan) I was stuck indoors, sewing. BUT we did get on good hike it and it was FANTASTIC! I need not to discribe it with words but with visuals instead. Enjoy becuase I sure did.
P.S. I would like to thank everyone for the helpful words during this crunch time. Love you all.

You April fool...

Fools:
All day i tried to think of a good joke to play but couldn't and realized not only have i always hated the April Fools part of April 1st but i suck at playing pranks. I feel like a liar and back in the day couldnt get even one soul to believe me. I'm the worst liar and if i did pull a prank i feel like it would really happen. How much would that suck. If ur a fool i hope you had a day full of fooling other fools.

Daylight:
I seem to miss so much of a beautiful day. Wake up, eat, shit, cut, sew, spill fray check on my fabric then start all over. The glory of being an anxious student the life of someone doing something they love. Love makes you do wild things thats fooorrr sure. For example redesign a dress about 7 times just to find yourself at the start all over again. Fabric and thread consumes my room and i'm trapped from the outside be the ironing board in the doorway. Study for midterms...What's that? I sew for 18 hours of the day and cause my anxiety to rage like an angry 90 year old person.

I went on a peaceful hike that made me realize im out of shape and trapped in my own world. Sitting at the waterfall was the best i've felt in a long time. It's sad really. Getting away was great even for the day and i have to admit for a few seconds the image of my dress wasn't dangling behind my thoughts. I've began to hate the sound, look, or color of the word Janome (the brand of my sewing machine)

My family comes and goes in and out of the house and i sit here in my room keeping up to date by overhearing what they do in a day and laugh at the jokes George makes from across the house.

My dress is in pieces at the moment and so is my mind, Obviously. I keep going from one thing to the next. I know it's all worth it when i get to see my drawing come to life on someone down a runway. Fucking nuts. I would say excuse my language but at the moment i frankly don't care. I don't think i've spoken in about 3 hours. I sing sometime while i sew just to keep my tounge from going dead. Soon after realizing i'm a horrible singer and that my tounge can't really die.

I JUST realized the Zoo next door in completly silent, horrah! Those 10 dogs and 20 birds drive me crazy and sound like a Zoo animals getting killed one by one. Not even kidding those birds sound like dieing monkeys. Yeah they may look like they come from the Amazon but they sound like death.

I'll post pictures soon for all like 2 of you that read this. haha. My friend Ben says he never reads this and he just looks for pictures. He likes to call me EMO, shove it!

It's plain and simple, i miss these days....

Mixed Martial ARTS

Saturday was a big day, my brothers really good friend, Vince Parra, got a chance to fight in his second professional fight. The event was in Irvine so off we went, with our 3 car caravan. I still don't have pictures but the video speaks for itself. He fought Cesar Macias which has a 1-1 and Vince had a 1-0 record. Going into the event I knew it would be weird to see these fights live, but little did I know my reaction to his fight would be so intense. The 1st fight was the ice breaker the sounds are so piercing, the faces, knees, hands, elbows hitting the mat with so much force and weight. The second Vince walked into the ring I was lightheaded and ready to pass out. I was excited but nervous all at once. To know that someone you know so well is getting in that ring to fight takes this kind of fighting to a whole different level. Enjoy the video!

As you can see Cesar Macias now holds a 1-2 recors and Vince Parra now holds a 2-0 record and made us all so proud and also impressed many of the sponsors. Someone that is so discipline and hardworking deserved every moment of this amazing victory, congratulations Vince.

what does it take to get a drink in this place?

So I'm pretty melo as we all know and don't do much but random little adventures but recently (mid Fed to be exsact) I went to Vegas. I attended MAGIC which is a huge fashion tradeshow of all the new lines and seasons. I don't have pictured from MAGIC becuase there not allowed but i have a bunnnnch of Vegas in general. If was more fun that i thought Vegas could be and the girls thought our hotel was nicer than it looks on the outside. so heeere we go!...
Classy Hotel, haha
Who would have thought it would be THIS amazing
On the free time we shopped and over dosed on M&M's

We then hit up our CocaCola polar buddy
we flew to Paris on the same trip, not a big deal...
and later returned to our Flamingo palace.
This is one of our beds, how rad is that!?
1,2,3 driks ready to gooooo
4,5,6 drinks gooone- I'm not
This was our final night out where none of the ladies could get a freee drink, Vegas was a dissapointment that night. But XS was an AMAZING club but the DJ was sh*t!
After getting home i never thought i would return to life, i dont know how i used to go out so much its nuts and i couldnt do it for more than 2 nights haha i'll update more often and more interesting things.
