Hello, Long Lost Friend...

I'm writting a blog in order to take my mind off my research paper due Tuesday.
I'm never writting anymore, obviously since my last post was in August.
That just means I was busy living and not writting.
With my brothers resent purchase of his first home, all I can think about is furniture and colors!!
I recently went to the LACMA and found these lovely pieces to inspire my dream of one day making my own furniture.

No Puedo Dormir...

Title: I can't Sleep...(for you non-bilinguals)

The lack of sleepiness is killing me, every night it gets harder to sleep at a decent time!
I think this will be another scatter brain entry, seeing as how my creativity with this blog has escaped me. Not much has changed since my last boring post.

-Tomorrow I'm off to a water park to celebrate a 24Th Birthday with some drinks and fun people.
-Bryan is still doing the John Muir Trail.
He's been gone since Sep.31st and returns this coming Wed.
I couldn't be happier for him!!
I've missed him since the 2Nd day he left
and it's only gotten worse as time went on.
Him going on this trip has made me so proud and excited.
Proud that he was the will power to do over 220mls with a heavy pack.
Excited about what adventures he's been on and
the things he's learned about himself or the wilderness.

I think being out in the wild is a beautiful thing,
you're left with your thoughts, dreams, and goals.
It allows for your mind to settle and you soul to be free.
It takes hard work and pain to get to camp and
when you get there it's the best thing in the world.
No Internet, no phones, no bills, no jobs.
It's just you and the things that really matter in life.
Love, nature, food, and water.
As for life here at home, without the beautiful mountains.
I think I've done a great job of making the most of it.
Gone out with my ladies, hitting the dog beach with Katrin or Stefanie, and even did a beach cleanup.
Here are some photos of Tommy(my dog) and his bestfriend/girlfriend Domino (Stef's Dog)
Domino is totally IN LOVE with Tommy.

From the looks of things, he loves her back.

and that translates into endless wrestling while throwing sand everywhere.

So far I think I've done a good job of keeping a busy summer with trips, beach time, fun, and relaxation. Coming up is the Grand Canyon, my 3 year Anniversary (YIKES!!), my birthday, and starting my last year of college. Then it's off to try to be a real adult and making my own American Dream.

Buenas Noches!

All the Beauty In the World...

Dear Blogger,
It saddens me to have to write these words, but I'm afraid I just don't have the same feelings for you as I once did. I don't see things and think of the amazing blog I can write.

This pretty much means, that you shouldn't count on a frequent blog, ideas come and go but I never take the time to turn it into a blog. This isn't the end of Mi Vida Loca, but just a simple step back. It's not as if I wrote often to begin with, but mentally, I thought about blogs more before than I do now.
It's been a gloomy Summer for the most of it, but thankfully finally warming up.
I have yet to go to my favorite beach spots, but I've
been going on trips to make up for the lost beach time.
San Francisco in June
San Gorgonio
San Jacinto and finally,
Yosemite!
Family, friends, Bryan, and I got the luck of getting a free cabin in the busiest Yosemite time. It was my first time out there and it truly blew me away, the size of the waterfalls and the clear view of the starts at night. Although the cabin was annoying at times with my dramatic uncle throwing tantrums and screaming badly behaved children. Being out of the cabin definitely made up for every second. Visits to Cathedral Beach, jumping in the freezing cold water, hikes to water falls that wet you head to toe, and bike rides through the big trees. The quality time with Bryan didn't hurt either, since he's been away on his own adventures this summer. Being out and about makes me really thankful that I get the chance to do it. Thankful that I'm healthy enough to do it and thankful that I have people in my life that can share incredible moments with.
It's only when you stop and look around, that you realize you're in the middle of all the beauty in the world.

Lifes too short to sit around and do nothing...

San Gorgonio Mountain: 11,503'
I usually stay behind on Bryan and Kevin's backpacking trips but this time I decided to tag along. No questions asked, I just packed my pack and off we went. Little did I know it would end to be one of the most challenging trips I've ever done. The days were long and hard and the snow turned out to be my least favorite.
Day 1: We hiked into Dry Lake stayed the night.

Day 2:
We picked up and took to the summit. We traversed the snow and loose gravel the whole way up. It was mentally and physically challenging. Looking down was terrifying. Ended the loooooooong day at Dollar Lake and called it a night.

Day 3:
Munched on a Cliff Bar and hiked out in time to catch breakfast on the way out of the mountains.
My trip description is very summarized in hopes that the pictures speak louder than my words.

People often ask why I do the trips I do. Why would you carry such a heavy backpack? Gross you poop in the woods? Your pack weights WHAT? Do you get to shower out there? Why would you do that to yourself?
It's SIMPLE!
It takes me to places I know people with those questions will never see. Places beyond a car camper could ever go. Besides the occasional airplane the only sounds around you are birds, the wind and water. It pulls me away from the things most could never live without. Away from freeways, cars, gas pumps, angry drivers, and hell aka my job.
With that being said I leave you with this:
"There's no difference between a pessimist who says, 'Oh, it's hopeless, so don't bother doing anything,' and an optimist who says, 'Don't bother doing anything, it's going to turn out fine anyway.' Either way, nothing happens."- Yvon Choinard

So it Began!

Kevin's Space, Ice Axe and all!

Shout out to Kevin's stylin' gators. Such character and vibrant color!
He won the beauty contest, obviously.

We Did It!
A couple that backpacks together, stays together!

Note San Jacinto in the back.
I've been to the top of that peak too.

The Lovely San Francisco....

June 2nd-June8th:
Bryan and I have gone on trips before but this was by far the best. Our time out in San Francisco was longer and neither one of us wanted to come home. We want to live there, hopefully the next time I'm there it's looking for a place to live! It's a wonderful thing to be in love, but it's even better to be in love and be in an amazing city. We went all over and did everything from Museums to random bus trips leading into random adventures. We stayed with his lovely aunt and uncle and they were great host, like always! (Thanks Peggy&David!!) Everything about this trip makes me miss being out there. Until I return we have plenty of photos to look back on. I scanned some, mostly taken by Bryan. It would take too long to organize, so the photos aren't in any chronological order. Enjoy!
